10. Events – From mini-golf to baseball games to the Gong Show talent nights to shore trips to missions trips. So many things to do!
9. Some Rules – CROSSFIRE is not for people “on the hunt” – not a dating service – non-denominational Christian fellowship.
8. Conferences and Retreats – Lots of people were attracted to the ministry by attending Singles Conferences. Spiritual growth was the focus and learning from nationally known speakers was a special treat.
7. Newsletter – We let people know what’s going on! Before websites it was the key way to communicate.
6. Talent – The Lord sent so many talented people at just the right time – singers, artists, accountants, public relations, leaders and “campers” – yes, when we needed people who knew how to go camping, they showed up!
5. Teams – CROSSFIRE made room for people to get involved – in outreach, drama, single parent leadership, events, care groups, sports, etc.
4. Divorce Recovery – Compassionate leaders gave so much dedication to help the people who were going through divorce. This was a much-needed area that our ministry was able to address.
3. Board of Directors – Strong leaders, committed Christians, dedication to the ministry – our board has lead this ministry through 30 years!
2. Leadership Training – Setting the standard for leadership has been so important. Developing leaders by equipping them for service and also leading by example. This is a major key to success!
And the number one reason for CROSSFIRE’S success:
1. Care Groups – small group ministry began early in the ministry years and proved itself to be the greatest way to connect single men and women with God and with each other. Through care groups a community was born and that continues to this day!
Praise God for the foundation laid for this ministry – Jesus Christ deserves all the glory for His wisdom, direction and inspiration to the men and women who have been entrusted with CROSSFIRE ministry.
1) We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
2) We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3) We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
4) We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
5) We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
6) We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
7) We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
